Reżyser, fotograf i malarz. Absolwent szkoły filmowej w Kopenhadze. W 2017 roku zadebiutował filmem „Zimowi bracia”, który zdobył wiele nagród m.in. W Locarno (m.in. nagroda dla najlepszego aktora), Toronto i Nowych Horyzontach (Nagroda FIPRESCI). „Biały, biały dzień” jest jego drugim filmem pełnometrażowym.
A director, photographer and painter. A graduate of the film school in Copenhagen. In 2017, he made his debut with the film “Winter Brothers”, which won many awards, including Locarno (the Best Actor Award, among others), Toronto and New Horizons (FIPRESCI Award). “A White, White Day” is his second feature film.

„Biały, biały dzień” Hlynura Pálmasona, autora zjawiskowych „Zimowych braci”, to osadzona w islandzkim pejzażu kameralna historia o policjancie, który stracił żonę w wypadku samochodowym. Mężczyzna próbuje ułożyć sobie na nowo życie, jednak odkrycie pewnej tajemnicy nie da mu spokoju i sprowokuje do zemsty. Przeszłość nie pozwoli o sobie zapomnieć, a skrywane emocje wybuchną ze zdwojoną siłą. Ingvar E. Sigurðsson, aktor wcielający się w główną rolę otrzymał nagrodę jury canneńskiego Tygodnia Krytyki.

“A White, White Day” by Hlynur Pálmason, the author of the phenomenal “Winter Brothers”, is an intimate story of a policeman who lost his wife in a car accident set in an Icelandic landscape. The man is trying to shape his life again, but discovering a certain secret will not give him peace and provoke revenge. The past will not let him forget about itself, and hidden emotions will explode with double strength. Ingvar E. Sigurðsson, the lead actor, was awarded the jury prize by the Cannes Critics Week.
