Urodzony w 1984 roku. Syryjski reżyser, scenarzysta, operator. W swoich filmach, zarówno dokumentalnych, jak i fabularnych, opowiada zwykle o problemach współczesnej Syrii oraz o politycznych przemianach świata arabskiego. Nagrodzenie Wielką Nagrodą Jury festiwalu Sundance „Ostatni w Aleppo” to jego największy sukces w dotychczasowej karierze.
Born in 1984. Syrian director, screenwriter, director of photography. In his films, both documentary, and feature, he talks about problems of contemporary Syria and political changes of the Arabic world. Being awarded for 'Last Men in Aleppo’ by Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance is, so far, the greatest success in his career.

Khalid, Subhi i Mahmoud, główni bohaterowie filmu „Ostatni w Aleppo”, to członkowie Białych Hełmów, czyli tzw. Syryjskiej Obrony Cywilnej, składającej się na zwykłych ludzi, pomagających ofiarom bombardowań. Uratowali do tej pory ponad 60 tys. istnień, najczęściej wyciągając ludzi spod gruzów gołymi rękami. W filmie Ferasa Fayyada poznajemy nie tylko ogrom zniszczeń, jakich dokonała wojna, ale również osobistą historię zwykłych ludzi, którzy stają się prawdziwymi bohaterami masowej ludzkiej tragedii rozgrywanej na oczach całego świata. Zdobywca Grand Prix tegorocznego festiwalu Millennium Docs Against Gravity w Warszawie.

Khalid, Subhi, and Mahmoud, the main characters in the movie 'The Last Men in Aleppo’, are members of the White Helmets, a so-called Syrian Civil Defense, consisting of ordinary people, helping the victims of the bombing. They have saved over 60 thousand of lives, most frequently getting people out from the debris with nothing but bare hands. In Firas Fayyad’s film, we get to know not only the extent of destruction of the war but also the personal history of ordinary people who become true heroes of the mass tragedy of the human race before the very eyes of the whole world. Grand Prix winner of this year’s Millennium Docs Against Gravity Festival in Warsaw.
